Starting Commercial Service

Getting commercial service with Dyersburg Electric is simple and hassle-free. We’re here to make sure your business has the power it needs, when it needs it. Just follow these easy steps, and we’ll take care of the rest.

1. Gather Required Documents

To initiate your service, you’ll need to provide the following:

Proof of lease or property deed
Government-issued photo ID
Tax ID number or Business ID

2. Deposit Determination

A deposit may be required to establish your service. The exact amount will be determined during your visit to our office, based on the details of your account. As a general guideline, the deposit is:

A minimum of $400, or
An amount equivalent to twice the highest previous electric bill for the location.

We will also accept a letter of credit or a surety bond.

3. Visit Our Office In Person

Bring the required documents along with a form of payment, and we can complete your commercial service application.

Power Contracts

At Dyersburg Electric, we understand that Commercial and Industrial customers have unique energy needs. Our Power Contracts are required by TVA to ensure that businesses have access to reliable and efficient power to meet their operational demands. The contracts are year-to-year and automatically renew annually. Any Commercial or Industrial customer who may be expecting demand of at least 50 kW or energy use of at least 15000 kWh should contact our office regarding a power contract.

2. Final Settlement



Once the review is complete, we’ll finalize your account based on your business’s specific circumstances. This may include processing your final payment or issuing refunds, depending on the account status.
