Important Facts about Dyersburg Electric System's Billing Process
|
All electric meters are read each month and bills are calculated using the current rate schedule based on consumption. Your bill is mailed approximately 3 days after the meter is read. You have 15 days from the date the bill is generated to pay the net amount without penalty.
Paying Your Bill All bills are due and payable upon receipt. Failure to receive a bill does not release you from the obligation to pay. You may pay your bill by mailing it to:

Envelopes are provided free of charge with your bill. If you prefer, you may pay your bill in person at our office located at 211 East Court Street, which has a convenient drive-thru window or night deposit box located next to our drive-thru window.
Internet Payment You may pay your electric bill online by using our secure Customer Service Portal. Access information can be found on the "Your Account" tab.
Interactive Voice Response(IVR)
You may access your account information, pay by e-check, or pay by credit card by calling our IVR directly at 731-207-8652
Bank Draft You may pay your electric bill automatically each month through a bank draft on your checking account. You will receive a monthly bill as usual, however on the due date of the bill a draft will be presented to your bank for payment in the amount of the bill. You need to sign an authorization form at Dyersburg Electric System and provide a voided blank check or deposit slip from your checking account to participate in this program.

PaySitetm Kiosk
Pay your electric bill at the kiosk in the Parkview Marathon located at 1501 Parr Ave., pay by credit card, e-check, or cash(no minimum). Store hours are 6 AM - 10 PM M-F, 6 AM - 11 PM Sat, and 6 AM - 7 PM Sun.
Now you can also pay your bill at the kiosk in the Bull Market located at 1890 Forrest St., pay by credit card, e-check or cash(no minumu). Store hours are 7 AM - 10 PM M-F, 7 AM - 11 PM Sat., and 7 AM to 9 PM Sun.
Late Payment Penalty After the due date a late charge of 5% is assessed on the unpaid balance of the utility bill. Late charges for residential customers may be excused only if you have not had a late charge in the past twelve months. You must have at least twelve months of payment history at your present location and pay the bill before the regularly scheduled cutoff date. You need to request to have the late charge excused.

What To Do If You Cannot Pay Your Bill Special payment arrangements may be made for a customer who cannot pay their bill on time due to extenuating circumstances. Please contact the Customer Service Department to inquire about programs and agencies that are available to help with your electric bill.
